City of Omaha Recycling Drop-off Sites

Recycling drop-off sites are a great way for small businesses and apartment dwellers to recycle.  The following items are accepted at these locations:

Glass bottles and jars, tin and aluminum cans, #1,2,3 and 5 plastic containers, cardboard, magazines and mixed paper, newspaper 

North West:  Hy Vee 

Peony Park Hy Vee

7910 Cass St 

Items may be dropped off at any time

South East:  River City Recycling

Besides being Omaha's bulky disposal location, it is also a disposal location for construction debris and other hard to get rid of materials.  River City Recycling also sells mulch and Oma-Gro for landscaping.  There is a fee for all materials except recyclables)

6404 S 60th Street (between Harrison and "Q")

Open Monday-Friday 8am-4:30pm

         Saturday 8am-Noon (Winter)

Monday-Saturday 8am-4:30 (Spring, Summer, Fall)

North East:  CARE Recycling

CARE (Central Area Recycling Exchange) is an offshoot of the Eastern Nebraska Community Offfice of Retardation and Developmental Disabilities.  They provide job training and a paycheck for the clients they serve.  They sort and recycle paper collected from local businesses and they offer document destruction for a fee.

South West:  Firstar Fiber

Firstar Fiber is the city's recycling processor and provides recycling services for businesses of all types and sizes. 

10330 "I" Street  

Use the east driveway.  Turn off of "I" Street then turn left into the fenced parking area before reaching the guard shack.

Mid-town*

UNMC student parking

519 S 40th St (east side of the parking lot)

Items may be dropped off any time

*This site does not accept glass
